Starting Hospice

For many families, the week after selecting their hospice is more stressful than making the decision to start hospice. Hospices are required to follow certain regulations. The process may seem repetitive and can be stressful.

  • Many members of the hospice team are required to visit.
  • You will have to sign a number of papers.
  • You will have to tell your story to several team members.
  • You may feel like your personal space and home have been invaded by strangers.

But, in reality, HOPE has arrived.

Meet your team:

The hospice staff members are only one part of your team. Your team includes yourself, your family, and your friends.

Each team member plays an important role.
You and your family are the most important members of the team.
You make all the decisions regarding your care.
The team provides you with information to help you decide which path is right for you.
