Sunday November 20, 2016, 5:30-6:30 pm, Hampton Park Lake, downtown Charleston
For nearly thirty years, Bridges has provided an opportunity for those with heavy hearts to do something all too rare and yet so essential; to publicly acknowledge and mourn our losses and journey together toward healing. And this year’s ceremony has some new features that we hope will enhance the experience for everyone. In addition to the music, brief reflection, and luminaries around the lake, the service will include:
- Memory Photo Table – You are invited to bring a small picture of your loved one (framed or unframed) to place on the memory table during the service
- Grief Resource Table – Information will be available on local grief support resources & groups as well as tips for navigating your unique journey
- Amenities – We will provide a tent with seating as well as warm beverages and light snacks for your comfort and convenience
As you likely know all too well, grief has no timetable, no script. So, we encourage you to join us, along with family and friends, to celebrate the memory of your loved ones wherever you find yourself in the grieving process; whenever the loss may have taken place through the years.
We are here for you; to acknowledge your loss; to celebrate the lives that have touched you deeply; to walk gently together in hope toward healing and growth.
Jonathan Wright, Executive Director
P.S. If interested, please use the luminary form (link below) to purchase a luminary in memory of your loved one(s). The suggested donation of $25 helps defray costs of this event as well as support our programming for local children, family caregivers, and health care professionals throughout the year. We are deeply grateful for your support.
